Rheonova is committed to support both academia and industries,
and to revolutionize products and processes
through instruments, expertise, and training

Comprehensive rheological characterization of your samples using our instruments and those of our partners that we deem suitable: we choose the most relevant solution for your product. Texture, viscosity, yield stress, plasticity, thixotropy, density, hardness, viscoelasticity, as well as extensional, tribological properties (stickiness/slip) and interfacial (wettability, surface tension, elasticity) of your solutions, creams, oils, adhesives, glues, paints, composites, slurries, and powders. Identify the nature, phase transitions (melting, crystallization, glass transition, curing, polymerization), and stability of your products: gels, liquids, emulsions, suspensions, polymers, and resins.

Sustainable solutions to overcome process-related challenges (pumping, mixing, filling, coating, extrusion, injection molding, 3D printing, compaction). Ingredient optimization and substitution for formulation (unstable texture, stringiness, sedimentation, phase separation, hold, slip). Equipment sizing, development of customized protocols, method validation, reformulation, creation of marketing materials, and writing of scientific articles.

A structured program with three levels, tailored to your needs, available either on-site or remotely.

FAQs about rheology
and Rheonova
Solutions

What is a rheometer used for, and what properties does it measure?

A rheometer characterizes the flow and deformation behavior of your products. It measures viscosity, yield point, thixotropy, viscoelasticity, and extensional properties of materials as diverse as creams, gels, oils, adhesives, paints, inks, suspensions, and biofluids. These measurements objectively assess key properties such as texture, stability, pumpability, spreadability, and stringiness to ensure the reliability of a formulation or industrial process.

Does Rheonova manufacture its own rheometers, and where are they produced?

Yes. Rheonova designs, develops, and manufactures its rheometers, the easyRheo (rotational) and the Rheomuco, entirely at its facilities in Gières (Grenoble), France. The product line is rounded out by two instruments for which Rheonova is the exclusive distributor: the FV-30 extensional rheometer (Europe) and the TriPAV high-frequency rheometer (France). This dual role as both manufacturer and distributor ensures a comprehensive product line covering shear, extensional, and high-frequency testing.

Is it better to purchase your own rheometer or to have your analyses performed by a laboratory?

Both options are available at Rheonova; rheometers can even be rented for short periods. For one-time, exploratory, or highly specialized needs, our laboratory performs your rheological analyses using easyRheo, RheoMuco, FV-30, and reference rheometers (Anton Paar, TA Instruments, Netzsch, Thermo Fisher). When rheological testing becomes a recurring need (quality control, ongoing R&D), purchasing or renting an instrument becomes a more viable option, and our experts will guide you toward the right solution.

In which industries and for what types of products does Rheonova operate?

Rheonova serves three major sectors: industry (cosmetics, food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals, anaerobic digestion, materials, coatings, lubricants, polymers, composites, household products, and construction), medical and healthcare (biofluids, monitoring the pathological state of bodily fluids, and therapeutic testing), and academic research (material characterization and modeling). Our analyses cover any viscous, viscoelastic, or suspension-based product, from liquid formulations to pastes, gels, powders, and soft solids.

How long does it take to get results?

Rapidity is at the heart of our instrument design: getting started and training on the easyRheo takes 30 minutes; extensional viscosity curves are obtained in less than one minute on the FV-30; and high-frequency measurements take less than 5 minutes on the TriPAV. For laboratory services, your analyses are returned within a few days, accompanied by an actionable report and raw data. For contract services, we can deliver initial results in less than 5 days.

Does Rheonova support every stage of product development?

Yes, that is Rheonova’s mission: to support your products from R&D through to production. This includes rheological characterization during the formulation phase, process optimization (pumping, mixing, filling), ensuring the reliability of quality control, troubleshooting (unstable texture, stringing, sedimentation), and building your teams’ skills through training.
