Frequently asked questions about our rheological analysis services
What sample volume is required?
The volume depends on the type of analysis. For rotational rheology, allow between 2 and 5 ml. For precious samples, our easyRheo technology allows us to work with as little as 20 µl, one of the smallest volumes available on the market. If you have only a small amount of sample, please contact us: we will adapt the protocol to your specific needs.
How long will it take to receive my results?
The delay depends on the complexity of the analysis, the number of samples, and our workload at the time of your request. For a standard analysis, please allow approximately 5 working days after we receive your sample. For urgent projects, we offer expedited rates for results within 48 hours.
Can I attend the analyses?
Yes, we welcome our clients to our laboratory in Gières (Grenoble). Attending the analysis allows you to interact directly with our experts, adjust parameters in real time, and better understand the results. This option is particularly valued for complex projects or initial collaborations. Contact us to schedule your visit.
What happens if my sample is volatile or temperature-sensitive?
Our instruments are equipped with hermetically sealed cells for analyzing volatile samples, as well as precise temperature control systems (from -150 °C to 600 °C). Please specify your sample’s constraints when submitting your request: we will adapt the protocol to ensure reliable measurements that accurately reflect your actual conditions. Tests can also be conducted under a nitrogen flow to minimize oxidation.
What types of tests do you perform?
Our laboratory performs a full range of rheological analyses: rotational rheology using easyRheo (viscosity, yield point, thixotropy, viscoelasticity), extensional rheology using the FV-30 (stringiness, extensional viscosity), capillary rheology (high-shear viscosity, process conditions), powder rheology (flowability, compressibility, cohesion), and viscometry. We also develop customized protocols tailored to your specific needs.
Can you analyze samples with very low viscosity (water, inks) or very high viscosity (polymers, pastes)?
Yes. Our range of instruments covers a very wide viscosity range: from low-viscosity fluids such as inkjet inks or aqueous solutions (as low as 1 mPa.s with the TriPAV) to molten polymers or very thick pastes analyzed using capillary rheology. If you have any doubts about the feasibility of your analysis, please contact us: we’ll evaluate your case free of charge.
What does the analysis report include?
Depending on the option you choose, you’ll receive:
- An analysis report with raw results
- An analysis report including: experimental conditions, curves and measurement data and a summary interpretation of the results
- A comprehensive expert report including interim reports for each phase of the project, as well as a detailed technical interpretation and operational recommendations that your process, R&D, or quality teams can implement immediately.
Can you help me interpret the results if I’m not an expert in rheology?
That’s exactly what we’re here for. We don’t just provide graphs, we provide answers. Each report includes a clear interpretation and recommendations tailored to your specific context (formulation, process, quality control). Do you perform analyses according to specific standards (Ph. Eur., ISO, ASTM)?
Yes. Our analyses can be performed in accordance with the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur. 2.2.10), ISO standards (ISO 3219, ISO 2884), and ASTM standards. Please specify the required standard when submitting your request.
