A rheological model of a material with a yield stress (σy) followed by a constant (Newtonian) viscosity, such as certain drilling muds. The Bingham model is one of the models used to describe yield-threshold fluids, alongside the Herschel-Bulkley model for fluids exhibiting non-Newtonian behavior beyond the yield threshold.
