Large Amplitude Oscillatory Shear: an oscillatory test conducted beyond the linear viscoelastic range (LVR). Unlike SAOS, LAOS explores the nonlinear response of materials under large deformations, revealing information about the internal structure of the network and its failure. Used in academic research for concentrated gels, emulsions, and molten polymer.
