A range of deformations in which the elastic (or storage) modulus G' and the viscous (or loss) modulus G'' remain constant and independent of amplitude. The internal structure of the material is not altered by the applied load. Any oscillatory test (frequency, time, temperature, etc.) must be performed in the LVR. Identifying this region through an amplitude sweep is therefore always the first step in viscoelastic characterization.
