The study of the behavior of materials subjected to extensional flow (elongation). Extensional viscosity, often considered in conjunction with dynamic shear viscosity, is critical in film blowing, fiber spinning, spray coating, inkjet printing, and filling processes. Measured using the FV-30 (distributed by Rheonova in Europe).
