A measurement technique in which the material is forced under pressure through a capillary die. Enables measurement at very high shear rates (10² to 10⁶ s⁻¹), representative of extrusion and injection molding processes. Used primarily for molten thermoplastic polymers. Provides the flow curve, extrusion swelling, and flow instabilities (e.g. shark skin).
